AMELOBLASTOMA

Lesion (Ameloblastoma)

Patient named Radha 56/f has come to us with a complaint of swelling inside her mouth since 3 months back with a history of previous surgery 10years back.

Basic investigations like blood profile, x-rays and CT’s were advised. CT reveals recurrence of the tumor in her upper left jaw which was close to the eyeball and surrounding important structures, a surgery has been planned and total removal of the lesion(ameloblastoma) has been done without damaging the eyeball and vital structures , proper tight closure has been given without gaping followed by a placement of prosthesis (palatal obturator) which helps to restore the surgical defect and aids in the function of speaking, swallowing or chewing.
