NAME: Nandan

AGE: 14

DIAGNOSIS: Inability to open mouth since 9 months.

RESULT: Mouth opening achieved during surgery 4.5cms

Patient presented with a complaint of inability to open the mouth since 9 months.

He also gave a history of road traffic accident 4 years back when he was diagnosed with lower jaw fracture which was treated conservatively. Patient is now presenting with reduced mouth opening.

He was diagnosed with a bony fusion between the skull and the lower jaw .

Operation was carried out to remove the bony fusion between the skull and lower jaw to increase the mouth opening and jaw movements which in turn assists the growth of the lower jaw and rehabilitates the patient.
